This House prefers a world where shows and movies narrow in on specific identities within cultures rather than broadly amalgamating various identities, when representing underrepresented minorities. For example, this means that instead of being characterised as an amalgamation of different Polynesian and South Asian cultures that Moana and Bridgeton’s Sharma family respectively would be characterised as a specific identity from within those cultural groups.
